Growing up in the wooded suburbs we were inspired by the many natural water features you find hiking through the woods and wanted to bring a slice of that to you…In 2005 we moved from Newtown Connecticut to Sarasota County in Florida opening our business which now operates out of Englewood, FL as well as Monroe, CT. In 2010 we began revamping the business including a name change from the original “Aquascape Water Features” to our website name “iDigPonds.com” to reflect our online presence and the new company name “Desired Landscapes” to encompass our many outdoor services offered. Our Forte still remains our waters features. Not only do we have strong visual talents but have been through advanced training with some of the best waterfall builders in the country and have become Certified Aquascape Contractors. Having had a landscape background prior to waterscaping helps up to visually construct your yard so that it works both from a practical aspect as well as an inspirational one. We will address such important items such as proper grading & correcting drainage issues to the opposite end of the spectrum addressing such things as proper flow & feel while correcting areas of negative energy. We are not just landscapers we are Artists. We love to design beautiful low maintenance yards with proper flow of energy that you can truly live in. Weather you desire a small water vase or a elaborate koi pond, your water feature is usually your focal point and everything must evolve around it to create your back yard paradise.

Our main focus is to bring people a bit of paradise and serenity…we feel everyone deserves a place to rest, reflect, unwind, and be surrounded by the calming energy of water.

STAN’S BACKGROUND
Owner of Deer Valley Landscaping for 6 years in Fairfield County, CT

Stan has an innate ability (or gift) for working with Stone in 3-dimensional design. He didn’t know this until later in life when he started building waterfalls. Since this time Stan’s water features and landscaping have stolen a piece of his heart and sole, this is partly because he has a love for it and partly because he truly brings happiness to others. Stan takes his time and never just throws something together. He builds as if it were his own. He treats his work as an art. Stan has the ability to apply his talents to outdoor applications looking beyond the blank slate while keeping in mind the organic, ever-changing nature of the surroundings. He is a True Artist and works from Inspiration and Imagination as he can see things long before they exist; he is able to work with plans as well. Stan always considers multiple concepts for the project to be undertaken. He works with the customer regarding how & where the water feature is to be utilized within the landscape and by whom. Stan will give suggestions for the best possibilities including how it may sound, proper grading & other hardscapes or softscapes that would compliment the water feature now or in the future. Everything falls right into place with Stan.

KYM’S BACKGROUND
Worked as Graphics Designer & Illustrator
(BFA-Graduated Magna Cum Laude from PAIER College of Art, CT. then worked 6 yrs in CT- Computer & Traditional Design, Illustrated a Children’s book “Poppy’s Plate Full Of Smiles”)

Just like Stan, Kym, too was born with great 3 Dimensional Design as well as 2 D Design and works in the same fashion as her husband. The two work well together. She focuses on much of the smaller details as Stan moves quicker with the “really” big rock. In fact she began working with Stan because she was tired of sitting behind a desk. More recently in 2010 Kym decided to get back into painting Murals. During college Kym was trained in more traditional styles of painting such as trompe l'oeil - A French term literally meaning "trick the eye” but her studies covered many medium and many styles. She painted murals as part time work during her years in Art School and is now available for hire for Murals or Faux Painting indoors or out. Kym still runs the retail end of the business which includes the online store & special orders, and she still works in the field with Stan when time permits.

DIXIE’S BACKGROUND
It’s a Family Business! This Dog just Loves water. Dixie Doesn’t Always get to go to work, but if the homeowner’s a dog lover sometimes they insist we bring her. And although she’s only been on a few jobs, she knows that when she sees a big hole in the ground, some rocks & a liner that a pond is coming and that means SWIMMING! When the pond is done and “If” the command is given, the Official Pond Testing will commence!

Dixie was in a Kill Shelter somewhere in the Carolina’s when a Local Rescue Shelter in Monroe, CT., brought her up North with about 30 other adults & pups. We found out about her on www.petfinder.com. She had at least 2 homes prior to ours & seemed to have been abused. She was a handful at first but with a bit a love & patience she overcame many of her issues and become a great dog!
